Facilities for Hire
Welcome to Strathallan School. The School, in 150 acres of parkland offers a wonderful venue for residential groups in rural Perthshire. Whilst enjoying all the benefits of our rural setting, we are close to many tourist attractions, being only 7 miles from Perth and have easy road and rail links with both Edinburgh (40mins) and Glasgow (50mins). This location combines the benefits of easy access with a fabulous natural environment and space for excellent facilities within the School.
Our hire facilities are particularly suited to medium and large residential bookings but we have sports and leisure facilities that will be of interest to Sports Clubs & Activity Camps both on a residential and non-residential hire basis.
The nucleus of the School remains a 19th Century country house, housing the Libraries, Theatre and various academic classrooms as well as our heated swimming pool. The Theatre can host 250 people. Surrounding this are our modern Boarding Houses, Squash Courts, Dining Hall, Art School, Medical Centre and the Chapel.
Over 500 pupils can eat within our Dining Hall over our one hour lunch break so we are confident that it has the capacity for all but the largest of groups.
The main Teaching Quadrangle is a short distance from the old House and has modern Classrooms, a new ICT Centre and Sports facilities (Sports Hall, Gymnasium, Fitness and Weights Room).
We also have on the same campus extensive playing fields, two synthetic pitches, 15 Tennis Courts (9 full sized), Netball courts, and Cricket Lawns.
Our Residential facilities are of a high standard. There are over 350 single study bedrooms for hire in the 7 senior boarding houses. We have a limited amount of dormitory accommodation in the senior houses but our Junior House has a wide range of small and medium dormitories on offer.
We offer our facilities for hire for all periods when the School is not in session, particularly during the Summer (July & August) and Easter (April) recesses.
Our blend of location, facilities and catering has made us an extremely popular venue over the last five years which has seen us host the following groups:
- Various National & International Language Schools
- National Youth Orchestra of Scotland
- National Youth Choir of Scotland
- National Childrens’ Orchestra of Scotland
- National Flute School
- Glasgow University Archaeology Department
- Various Activity, Rugby, Hockey and Tennis Camps
- National Young Farmers
- Many national level sporting organisations and local Sports Clubs
Our availability and charges are dependent on group size and duration of stay. Discounted rates may be available for local and community groups, in particular for non-residential hires.
