Sports & Activities
The Physical Education and Games programme is a central feature at Strathallan. All pupils take part in physical activity at least three times a week. The main aim is to provide a range of sports and activities that are enjoyable and allows the pupils to experience the benefits of regular exercise. Development of skill is a key feature of the P.E and games programme.
Strathallan caters for all abilities and interests and it is recognised that not everyone will be a main team games player either in ability or inclination. There are fixtures at all levels with local and other HMC schools. Everyone has the chance to represent the School. Inter House competitions increase opportunities for representation. The standard of coaching is high and the results reflect the pursuit of excellence across the range of sports.
What is unique about Strathallan is that it offers not just an unmatched depth, but also a wide range of provision. Our pupils generally do very well in their chosen pursuits, with many achieving national honours. One of the major advantages of a boarding school is the opportunity for pupils to work with others in their leisure time to benefit from a range of societies and clubs. Activities time is available after tea, in the evenings, and for some activities and some age groups, after prep also.
In addition to extensive playing fields on the 150 acre site, there are two floodlit all-weather pitches, nine all-weather tennis courts, two all weather netball courts, a golf course, an indoor swimming pool, squash courts, a fitness and weight training room, a gymnasium and a sports hall (with a climbing wall).
All parents are welcome to come and support the children at sports matches soup and sandwiches will be provided after all home matches for parents in the Wilf Hoare Room, Dining Hall.
