Nicol
Nicol is a close-knit family. Our continued success is due to the sense of togetherness generated by the boys themselves. Central to our community is an understanding of its core values; honesty, kindness, good manners, tolerance, respect for the home in which we live, support for all house competitions and a determination to do one’s best. We pride ourselves on our strong academic and sporting tradition. Nicolites are proud to make the most of a humbling diversity of talents. It is my hope that members of Nicol leave with a sense of having belonged to a caring and friendly house whose members are mutually supportive. Every individual will have an opportunity to lead and to contribute as well as to grow in confidence and ability through the most formative years of their lives. They will forge friendships through Nicol that will remain long after they have left us.
The Housemaster, David Billing, began his career as a teacher and Assistant Housemaster at Ampleforth College, Yorkshire, before moving to Uppingham School, Rutland, to become Director of Sport and Head of Rugby. David moved to Strathallan in 2009 to take over Nicol with his wife Donna who is Head of the History department. As well as teaching and running the House, David coaches the 1st XV as well as Senior Colts cricket and Donna is in charge of the Debating Society. They have one very special dog, Talla, who loves nothing more than spending Saturday nights helping the boys finish off their take-outs in the Common Room.
