Chess
The chess club meets once a week in the Physics Department and is open to all members of the school, including Riley. This year a number of pupils took part in the British Land UK Chess Challenge. This competition involved a school section in which each pupil played seven matches. Success was rewarded with badges, mascots, flags, and trophies to the eventual winners.
In 2010 four pupils qualified for the Mega Finals of the National UK Chess Challenge. Lisa Winkler won the title of Suprema and Kieran Grieve, Stuart Cantlay & James Boag were all presented with certificates.
