Charities Committee

About the Charities Commiittee

The Charities Committee has been up and running for nearly three years. The committee is made of Sixth Form representatives from each House, the Heads of School and members of staff.  Each year different charities are supported through a variety of fund raising initiatives.

Events this term:
Fancy Dress Non-uniform Day 15th October in aid of Help for Heroes with a collection after the performances at House Music and at Headmaster's Music.

Kilt and Rugby shirt Day 27/11 in aid of The Sandpiper Trust and Capability Scotland

Money raised last year:
£3000 sent out Mosanto school in Malawi to build a school. They were not only able to build the school but built a teacher's house and bought desks and chairs for the school.

A huge number of books were sent out to another school The Trust Academy in Mzuzu through the Raven Trust. Audrey Sime took the books over with the help of some pupils. £200 was donated to The Raven Trust for taking the books out.

Later in the Autumn term we raised money for The Sandpiper Trust, Capability Scotland and Rachel House.

In the summer term Riley raised money for 3 charities: Help for Heroes £1707.58, CHAS Rachel House £703.56 and Young Carers £745.46 (part of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers) This was raised at the Water Obstacle Course Event which was planned and organised by Riley pupils with a little help!
