Hockey - Girls

Hockey is one of the major games for girls at Strathallan. We run 10 teams across the age groups: 6 junior teams and 4 senior XIs. We play school fixtures at all levels and also enter the Midlands and Scottish Cups at 1st XI level. Currently we are the Midlands 1st XI champions and also the Indoor champions at both senior and junior level. We enter girls for district trials at U15, U16 and U18 level and in season 2007/2008 we a total of 16 girls involved in district representation. We also had 4 girls involved in national age group training.

In June 2008 we officially ‘opened’ our new artificial surface which now gives us 2 – one sand based and one sand dressed pitch dedicated for hockey. We also have 3 grass pitches for our busy fixture schedule.

We have a wide range of expertise on our coaching staff and we encourage all to participate.

In the summers of 2004 and 2007 our 1st XI and 2nd XI teams toured to Australia and we look forward to our next tour in 2010.
