Karate
Karate is run by external coach, Mike Clifford on a weekly basis within the School. Pupils learn the discipline and technique required to perform Kata and Kumite. This in turn allows pupils to advance themselves in the sport which is normally demonstrated by the colour of belt achieved.
At the Scottish Junior Karate Championships in Spring 2008 Isobel Hale and Ben Quick both won medals. Ben competed in the White/Purple event achieving gold in both the Individual Kata and Individual Kumutai events and bronze in the team Kata and Team Kumutai. Isobel competed in the Brown/Black event and achieved a gold in the Team Kumutai and silver in both the Individual Kata and Individual Kumutai.
