Rounders
The anticipation of a summer term games afternoon spent playing a gentle (!) game of Rounders is one of the things that keeps us going through the icy blasts of the winter term.
All the girls from 1J to Fourth Form play Rounders at least one afternoon a week and the sport can be taken as a games option from Fifth Form onwards.
Riley has a busy fixture list competing with the local prep schools but in the Senior School we are one of only four schools which compete at this level.
Such is the popularity of Rounders that under the co-ordination of Mrs Sandra Fleming (Housemistress of Thornbank) all the participating schools have got together and formed Scottish Rounders. In the last six years Strathallan has hosted an international competition fielding up to 8 Scottish teams (including a boys' team) to play against England and Wales.
