Tennis - Girls
Girls Tennis has always been a popular games choice in the Summer term and we believe this is due to the great camaraderie of the teams and the competitive nature in which the sport is approached. We now run 4 senior teams and 3 teams per age group at the junior level. We have regular school fixtures as well as entering national competitions both in singles and doubles.
Riley pupils have the opportunity to be involved in a number of local tournaments, which gives them invaluable experience in doubles play.
Senior girls will also participate in mixed doubles tournaments both locally and national competitions and, in fact reached the finals day at Bolton Arena in 2008.
There is a Strathallan singles championship at Junior and Senior level throughout the Summer term and Riley pupils play in mixed doubles tournament.
Tommy Ogilivie, the Academy coach, coaches the senior girls teams and also see Riley and 3rd Form girls on a weekly basis in the Summer.
Players have the opportunity to be assessed for the Strathallan Tennis Academy and there is also an opportunity to apply for a Sports Scholarship in tennis.
