One of the major advantages of a boarding school is the opportunity for pupils to combine with others in their leisure time to benefit from a range of societies and clubs. Activities time is available after tea, in the evenings, and for some activities and some age groups, after prep also. Some of these activities are linked to academic departments, while others are recreational. There is also the opportunity to compete both at Inter House level and for the School in outside competitions.
In the younger age groups pupils are expected to take part in a number of activities and in this they are supported by their tutors. While greater freedom is allowed to the older pupils, the interest and enthusiasms which have been engendered in earlier years ensure that they continue to be involved.
