Junior Science

The Junior Science Department aims to develop an interest in experimental work, an ability to design investigations and a desire to find out more about the subject.  The core principles are preparation for courses in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Third Form.

Great emphasis is placed on practical activities and most lessons involve some form of experimental work.

The lessons take place in a well equipped lab. situated in the centre of the Science Department.  All pupils in Riley study Science for four periods per week. Forms 1JJ and 1J follow KS2, and Forms 1 and 2 follow KS3.  Assessments are carried out every two to three weeks using both computer and written tests.
