‘’I board every Tuesday because of my activities. Being a day pupil is great because you get the best of both worlds. I get to see my friends at home but I can make use of all the amazing opportunities here too.”
Day pupils at Strathallan
Strathallan welcomes day pupils age 9 to 18. The option for day pupils to stay overnight, or stay late is ideal for busy working parents and our minibus service makes pick up and drop off an easy option if you live in Auchterarder, Stanley, Dundee, Crieff, Dunblane, Kinross and Perth.
Our day pupils enjoy the same exceptional facilities as our boarding pupils. In recent years we have invested over £18 million in our facilities and today they are amongst the best of any school in Scotland. Recent innovations include a muliti-sports hall with three indoor tennis courts and a dance and drama studio.
Our fees for day pupils are highly competitive, particularly in light of the huge breadth of opportunities available - academic, sporting and artistic - on our own campus.
Fees for our Junior House, Riley, which is for pupils age 9 to 12, is £4,616 per term. This includes teaching by subject specialists from the senior part of the School and an extensive choice of curricular and extra-curricular activities.
From age 13, (Year 9), the fee for our day pupils is £7,038 per term. Our policy is to maintain the same fee level throughout the School as each pupil benefits from the same high level of educational and advancement opportunities.

See what some of our day pupils say about Strathallan
‘Being a day pupil in Riley is nice because you can stay for however long you want to up until 7.30pm and you know they’ll always be someone else to hang out with and activities to go to. Our Housemistress is so supportive – you can go to her for anything and the in house tutors are really nice.’
"Even though I’m a day pupil I usually stay late. Being in school for Prep is great because if you are struggling with a subject you are always close to a teacher or someone that will be able to help"
"My advice for someone coming to Strathallan would be to do as much as you can and take every opportunity – you are only at school for a short time and this school offers you so much. Just try everything and if in the end it turns out you don’t like it it’s ok, at least you tried it."
"Every day pupil belongs to a House with the boarding pupils. Houses are great because you are part of a wider age group and socialise with people in different years too."
