Since Strathallan’s foundation by Harry Riley in 1913, offering a broad range of opportunities for all pupils has been central to the ethos of the School. The campus and facilities have been developed extensively in the one hundred years during which the School has been in existence, and the achievements and experience of generations of pupils reflect the outstanding opportunities which they have been given.
The core of the School’s provision is, of course, the academic work and there has been significant investment in classroom facilities over the past decade. As a boarding school, the pastoral care and residential facilities are also of paramount importance. All our boarding accommodation has been built within the last thirty years, which is a unique position for a boarding school in Scotland. We continue an ongoing programme of refurbishment which has recently included all senior boarding houses and the Dining Hall.
At Strathallan we believe that education goes beyond the classroom and we are committed to a wide range of extra-curricular activities which complements and builds on the academic provision. The provision of a large covered space now enables our pupils to train all year and in the evenings; a Dance/Drama studio also significantly enhances opportunities in the related areas of theatre, music and dance.
