Scotland’s emerging stars create a strong line up of finalists for Young Athlete of the Year, with Strathallian Scott McLay among them. Scott became Scotland’s most successful ever athlete at a Commonwealth Youth Games in the summer, winning three golds, one silver and one bronze medal. He honed his skills at Strathallan, taking part in the extremely successful swim programme at the School. The programme is headed up by former Commonwealth swimmer, Elaine Johnston, who has been at the forefront of the talent emerging in the pool here. Elaine was also instrumental in the development of Olympian Duncan Scott, who makes the list for Male Athlete of the Year at the Team Scotland Awards.
