Strathallan win Scottish Silver Cup

Strathallan School is celebrating this week after their girl’s 1st netball team took the title in the Netball Scotland Scottish Silver Cup Final.

They travelled to Ravenscraig Sports Centre, Motherwell where they played a nail-biting match against St Ninians High School from Glasgow.

The first quarter started strong with great play from the whole team and ended with a strong lead of 7-3. St Ninians were a tough opposition but Strathallan increased their lead from four goals to six after 30 minutes when the score was 19-13.

The third quarter saw some excellent play from both sides Strathallan scoring well and the quarter ending 24-12.

Strathallan pushed on and the defence delivered some great interceptions along with the Goal Attack making some fantastic shots to end the game with Strathallan winning 32-19.

Director of Sport at Strathallan, Audrey Sime said:

“I am extremely proud of the girls and coaches for the way they have played all season. To get to the Scottish Cup Silver Final is a tremendous achievement in itself, let alone winning the trophy.

“They have worked extremely hard all season and have shown great quality when playing against extremely good opposition.”
