Further National Representation for Strathallan
April 18 2019
Over the Easter break we had one pupil represent Scotland and a further two selections. Strathallan now have 28 pupils representing Scotland as well as 5 for Great Britain.
Congratulations to Angus K who competed for Scottish Fencing at the Challenge Wratislavia event in Poland. What a great experience.
Congratulations to Callum Norrie and Finn Donnelly who have been selected for the Rugby and Hockey Scotland U16 Squads.
Callum has been selected for The Rugby U16 squad for a combined tournament in Wales. The tournament which runs from 15 April to 24 April, will be held at locations across Wales, where the Scots will play fixtures against several Welsh teams including the Ospreys, Scarlets, Dragons, Blues and RGC.
Andy Henderson, Director of Rugby on Calum’s selection said:
“Callum has done remarkably well, being chosen for the U16s given he is a year young for his age group and as a second row which is a very demanding position. Callum is a young player with lots of ambition and the test in Wales playing against the top academies from each region will be very tough for him but a fantastic opportunity to further his development as a person and as a player.”
Finn is traveling with the Scotland U16 Hockey squad to play a test series’ against Wales. The matches will be played at Cwmbran Stadium and the National Hockey Centre in Cardiff from the 19th-21st of April.
Audrey Sime, Director of Sport on Finn’s selection said:
“I am delighted to see Finn selected for the Scotland U16 Team. He has been a key member of the 1st XI team this year who won the Scottish Hockey Open Plate Competition and he has worked extremely hard to improve his game. Selection is a fitting reward for all his hard work.”
