Tommy Ogilvie, Head of Tennis at Strathallan, expressed his excitement at the upcoming competitions.
“We're really looking forward to hosting these events at the school. The new partnership with the Adam Brown Tennis Academy is very exciting, and both Adam and I are eager to see where it takes us.”
Looking ahead to the first team event, Adam Brown said, “The 9 and 10 and under team events are a great way to bring together players who are both new and experienced in tennis to compete with their friends in a fun and relaxed environment. So much of tennis is played as an individual sport, so the opportunity to do it as part of a team is a great experience for players.”
Commenting on the Grade 5 U16 Singles event, Tommy highlighted its significance, saying, “The Under 16 event is a great way for new and regularly competing juniors to get some match play experience. We will be using compass draws which means that all players will be guaranteed 3 or 4 matches win or lose. So players will always end up playing against opponents of similar level by the end of the tournament making it a good, enjoyable and competitive experience.”
“We hope to create further opportunities throughout the summer for all ages and stages and can’t wait to welcome them to Strathallan.”
It has been as season of success on court for our Strathallan students, with lots of exciting results recently won across the UK.
Tennis: A fantastic few days for Jed M at the ROGY Edinburgh Open 2024. Winning the U18 boys singles and the U18 boys doubles with partner T Mills. Amazingly this is the 3rd year in a row Jed has won the doubles at this event, and with 3 different partners! ð¾ #StrathTennis ð¾ pic.twitter.com/ji8CxvKN55
