Strathallan Prep Pupils sprint to success in triple Cross Country triumph

In the whirlwind of cross-country competition, four Strathallan Prep School pupils have ran their way to success, clinching three team victories in a row.

Led by Prep Captain of Sports Will L, alongside teammates Sebastian D, Findlay B, and Charlie C, the team conquered the Belhaven Cross Country, smashed the Merchiston Cross Country Relays, and soared to triumph in the SSAA Scottish Primary Schools Cross Country Championships.

They were named overall P7 Champions out of hundreds of school-age athletes taking part in the SSAA Scottish Primary Schools Championships and were joined on the podium by our U14 Girls, Anna G, Alia D, Anna H and Annabel A, who finished third in the SSAA Senior Schools Cross Country Championships.

When asked about their incredible run of success, Will L said, "It’s been a great Cross Country season for us this year. We’ve all trained hard and our hard work paid off and gave us some great results which we are all really proud off. I’ve really enjoyed running with my team mates in SPS and will miss it next year when I move up to the senior school."

Reflecting on their success, Director of Sport Jim Thompson said, "The boys have put in countless hours of hard work, both on and off the track. It's truly rewarding to see their efforts pay off in such a remarkable way across three major events."

“The success continues this Spring at Strathallan. Our U14 Netball girls secured the national championship title, while our U18 Rugby team triumphed at the North Berwick 10s. Our U18 and U16 rugby teams celebrated double success at the Lathallan 7s competition. Our U15 Rugby 7s team clinched gold in Linlithgow, and our 1st Tennis team advances to the next round in the LTA Youth Schools National Championships after a spirited match against Dollar this week. Well done, Strathallan."
