The results reflect the hard work and commitment of pupils across the year group, with strong performances spanning subjects including English, Maths, Sciences, Modern Studies, Business, Languages, History, Drama, PE and Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies.
For many pupils, the results mark an important step towards their future ambitions, while for others they provide the flexibility to keep their options open as they consider their next steps.
Among those celebrating was Helena V-A, who achieved six As in Maths, English, Human Biology, Chemistry, History and Spanish.
“I’m really happy with my results as they’ve given me lots of confidence going into Upper Sixth,” said Helena. “I’m hoping to study Economics at university, with McGill being one of my top choices, alongside other universities in Canada and the UK.”
Holly A also achieved an impressive five As, in Modern Studies, Maths, English, Business and Biology.
“I’m looking to explore a number of options with my tutor and Sixth Form team next year. These results will keep my options open for whatever I decide.”
For Isla S, five As in Drama, Maths, History, English and RMPS have similarly given her confidence as she looks ahead to university applications next year.
“I’m very pleased with my results. Hopefully they will open doors when I apply to university next year. I’m not sure what I will do in the future, but I am now confident my options are open.”
Headmaster Mark Lauder said the breadth of subjects and achievements was particularly encouraging.
“Once again, our pupils have achieved an excellent set of SQA results, with a 91% pass rate across an impressive 21 Higher subjects — the broadest range of Higher subjects ever offered at Strathallan. What is particularly pleasing is the breadth of achievement across the year group, with pupils achieving outstanding results in subjects ranging from the sciences and languages to the humanities, business, PE and the creative arts.
“These results are a reflection of the hard work, determination and ambition of our pupils, supported by the commitment of our teaching staff. Whether pupils already have a clear path towards university and a chosen career, or are keeping their options open for the future, these results give them a strong platform from which to take their next steps. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.”
From the classroom to the hockey pitch
For Maisie D, her four As in English, Modern Studies, Business and PE have given her the confidence to pursue her ambition of studying Law at university.
“These results mean a lot to me because they’ve given me the confidence to pursue my goal of studying Law at university. They’ve opened up opportunities for the future, and I’m excited to keep working hard and see where that takes me.”
Maisie received her results just days before taking to the pitch as goalkeeper for the Scottish Hockey Brave Tournament.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, she said: “We performed extremely well as a team. I feel it was a performance we have been working towards for years as a squad, and it has really given us confidence for the rest of the games.”
Her results, alongside her continued commitment to hockey, are a fitting example of the breadth of opportunities available to Strathallan pupils as they develop their ambitions both inside and outside the classroom.
With pupils now looking towards Upper Sixth, university applications and a wide range of future pathways, these results provide a strong foundation for the next stage of their Strathallan journey.
