Strathallan School Pupils Enjoy Insightful Trip to University of Stirling

Strathallan School pupils embarked on an enriching educational trip to the University of Stirling. The day was filled with a variety of activities, offering students valuable insights into university life and sporting opportunities.

During two on-court tennis sessions, pupils had the privilege of learning from experienced coaches. Matt Earnshaw led a session for the school's performance players, while Aidan Le Bouille guided the senior players.

The students also attended informative presentations from Graham Matheson, the Sports Development Officer, and Alan Waddell, the Student Recruitment Officer. Matheson provided comprehensive information on various aspects of university life and sporting opportunities, while Waddell shed light on academic options and the university's overall offerings.

Bryan Barclay, the Performance Sport Officer, discussed the prestigious sports scholarship program, highlighting the benefits and support available to student-athletes. The tour of the campus provided a firsthand look at the accommodation, library, and lecture theatres.

Captain Jed M expressed his enthusiasm for the trip, stating, "It was a fantastic experience to interact with staff and students at the university. While I've visited the tennis facilities before, this tour allowed me to explore the campus and truly appreciate the university's diverse offerings. Stirling is one of my top choices, and this visit solidified my interest."

The day concluded with the opportunity to watch the University of Stirling's men's and women's first tennis teams compete against Leeds Beckett in a BUCS match.

Strathallan School extends its gratitude to Graham Matheson and all the staff at the University of Stirling for making this enriching experience possible. The pupils were highly engaged throughout the day and were praised by Matheson for being a credit to their school.
