Equestrian Excellence: Strathallan Riders shine at Kilgraston's Championships

Over the weekend, 20 Strathallan riders joined a bustling field at Kilgraston's annual Dressage and Show Jumping Championships, hosted at Howe Equestrian Centre in Fife.

With 17 schools from Scotland and the Borders in attendance, the competition was fierce, offering qualifications for the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Championships.

Strathallan School riders showcased remarkable determination and enthusiasm, resulting in outstanding achievements: 5 teams (3 Show Jumping, 2 Dressage) and 8 individuals (4 Show Jumping, 4 Dressage) secured qualifications for the NSEA Championships at Addington, Buckinghamshire in October 2024.

Among the highlights were Dressage first place awards to Lucy H and Farrah C, while Mischa S, Lucy B, and Grace M claimed top honours in Show Jumping. Noteworthy performances included clear rounds achieved by several riders, showcasing their skill and precision.

Mischa S, said, “I was so delighted to bring the trophy home to Strath in my final year, and was so pleased with my amazing horse, Tui. I was so proud of the equestrian team who I know work incredibly hard and were all amazing on Sunday, bringing home some great results.”

“A massive thank you to Mrs Summersgill, Mrs Waugh and Kyle F, one of our Equestrian Captains for their support to the whole team.”

Farrah C, said, “It felt amazing to win the dressage and my horse, PJ tried so hard for me, it was a great weekend and well done to everyone who competed!”

Lucy H, added, “I’m so pleased with my results. It was fantastic to see so many Strathallan riders competing side-by-side and winning together.”

A heartfelt thank you to Kilgraston for organising this fantastic event, providing an enriching platform for our riders to excel.
