Inspired by his father's love for the sport, Robbie's passion for cricket was ignited at a young age.
"As long as I can remember, I've always been playing cricket. I remember watching my dad play, and since then I’ve fallen in love with the sport," said Robbie, who also plays for Ayr Cricket Club.
"Being selected for the Scottish U17 team has been quite an experience. It's amazing, and I feel like all the hard work I've put in has finally paid off. It makes me really happy to be a part of the squad."
Robbie's love for cricket doesn't stop when he steps off the field. Fuelled by his passion for the game, he embarked on an extraordinary project; to design and handcraft his own cricket bat for his Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Drawing inspiration from renowned bat makers, Robbie experimented with various materials and designs.

When asked about his experience creating the bat, Robbie said, "Designing and making my own cricket bat for my EPQ has been exciting. It allowed me to test different woods and see what would actually work and what doesn’t. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and am proud of the end result."
Robbie's cricket skills will be put to the test this weekend as the U17 Cricket Scotland team plays in the Super Series (50 Over) at Dollar.
Jim Thompson, Director of Sport, said, “Robbie has had an excellent year of cricket both with bat and ball, and fully deserves his call up to the Scotland U17 squad. He has also shown outstanding leadership this term, which has led to him being appointed captain of boys cricket next year.”
