Riders Showcase Top Skills at Strathallan Showjumping Competition

Over 180 riders showcased their exceptional skills at Strathallan’s annual team and individual Showjumping Competition, held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Howe Equestrian Centre in Fife.

The Competition commenced at 9:00 AM and concluded at 6:30 PM, with riders demonstrating impressive jumping throughout the day.

Tom Myles of Howe Equestrian Centre deserves immense credit for his exceptional efficiency in calling forward the competitors, ensuring that the event ran smoothly and according to schedule. The course builder, Callum Glasgow, meticulously designed challenging courses that tested the skills and agility of each rider.

Jane Calder, the judge for the competition, expertly handled the scoring and provided insightful commentary throughout the day, captivating the audience and enhancing the overall experience. Deebees Rosettes, a renowned supplier of equestrian rosettes and sashes, contributed to the event’s success with their striking and colourful rosettes and sashes.

The Strathallan Showjumping Competition proved to be an outstanding showcase of equestrian talent, highlighting the dedication, passion, and skill of the participating riders. We were thrilled to see riders from various age groups and skill levels competing, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere.

Strathallan Team Results

Strathallan's Equestrian team made a big impact on Sunday:

Our mixed Strathallan Pupils and Parent team rode to 6th place in Class 1 (55-60cm). Well done to Eva S, Harriet S and Ashley Sinclair, our Showjumping Parent.

In Class 2 (70-75cm) our Navy Team (Olivia K, Isla A, Eva S and Pebbles W) placed 1st. With Pebbles W coming 3rd Individually on Boo and our Gold Team coming 5th (Eva S, Lucy H and Anna M).

Team success in Class 3 (85-90cm) with our Gold, Blue, Navy and Yellow teams placing 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th respectively. Individually in this class, Mischa S came 2nd, Francesca W 4th and Peebles W 5th.

Class 3 Teams:

Gold – Francesca W, Farrah C, Mischa S and Pebbles W (Flight)

Blue – Kyle F, Melissa A, Olivia K and Pebbles W (Boo)

Navy – Hannah A, Lucy B, Eliza E and Pebbles W (Maily)

Yellow – Pippa M, Emma R and Eva S

Class 4 (100-105cm) equally saw Strathallan teams place highly, with Gold, Navy and Blue teams coming in 3rd, 4th and 5th. Francesca W took 3rd individually on Lexie.

Class 4 Teams:

Gold – Alice E, Francesca W, Farrah C and Pebbles W (Flight)

Navy – Matilda A, Mischa S and Pebbles W (Maily)

Blue – Kyle F, Lucy B, Matilda A and Emily S.

Strathallan School boasts a rich legacy of equestrian success, marked by recent triumphs at regional, national, and international competitions.

Recent notable achievements include:

Unstoppable Scots: Strathallan's equestrian team claimed impressive victories at various summer events.

Farrah Takes the Reins: Strathallan student Farrah C was selected for the British Dressage team.

Mischa soars for Scotland: Mischa S earned the opportunity to represent Scotland at the British National Showjumping Championships.

Honoured at the British Eventing Ball: Strathallan students Pebbles W and Kyle F were recognized for their outstanding achievements by the equestrian community.
