After being selected for the Scottish team for the International Working Hunter Pony Championship, Eliza E and her horse Paddy won Overall Dressage Champion and Overall 143 WHP Champion.
Eliza said, “To win 143 with Paddy is something I will never forget. We’ve had him for eight years and he has represented Scotland 6 times in the Working Hunter Pony and twice in BE U18 BE 100 national championships. He is an incredible pony.”

Following a fantastic 3rd place in the BE90 regional qualifier at Hopetoun, Pebbles W and her horse Tino II have now qualified for the Badminton Grassroots Championships 2024.

Pebbles W
Pebbles came first in the 105 Open class with her horse Maily at Stoneleigh in a competitive class of 60 other competitors. Pebbles was also double clear in the 115 Debut team in Welsh Home Pony coming 8th out of 106 riders, the top Scot and qualified for the Scottish team who finished Bronze in the competition.
July also saw four Strathallan riders compete for Scottish U18 BE100 team at the British Eventing Youth Championships at Bishop Burton.
With Alice E, Eliza E, Francesca W and Kyle F taking the reins, the Scottish team came 4th overall and Kyle, the top Scot, came 5th individually out of 80 of the best young riders in the UK.

Kyle F
Co-Captain of Equestrian, Kyle said, “It was an amazing feeling. I remember finishing and wanting to do it all over again. Freya is a new horse for me, but I’ve been riding her every day since March. The course was very technical, but we put our best foot forward in the dressage and picked even more positions in the show jumping. The stars aligned and delighted is an understatement.”
Blair International also saw a strong Strathallan contingent, with current students, former pupils, and staff competing.
Most notably, Ava M finished 4th in the BE100, Mrs Waugh came 6th in the BE90, and Pebbles W, who came 7th out of 32 competitors in the BE90 with her horse Tino II, also competed in the British Showjumping at Blair with her horse Flight and came 1st in the 100.

Pebbles W and Flight
Pebbles said, “I was so pleased to come 1st with Flight after being in the top 5 throughout the few days, I had to try and get that top spot, and I did, it’s a great feeling. Tino and I coming 7th was incredible as it was my first time competing in the BE at Blair and won’t be the last. The summer has been very successful but also very busy with a lot of miles being done up and down the UK. That was the last BE for the season for Tino and I, which means it’s preparation time for Badminton in May 2024.”
Congratulations to all our riders who competed this summer. It is fantastic to see our Equestrian team continue to go from strength-to-strength.
