Delivered in two exciting blocks during the autumn term—Strathallan Stars (drama and musical theatre) and Eco Explorers (outdoor learning)—Riley Roots invites pupils to spend their Saturday mornings engaged in hands-on, joyful learning experiences that go beyond the classroom.
This marks a significant shift from the previous model of Saturday School. Instead, Riley Roots offers a fresh, flexible approach designed to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and encourage exploration—without the expectation of mandatory attendance.
“We’re proud to introduce Riley Roots as a modern, meaningful alternative to Saturday School,” said Emma Lalani, Head of Strathallan Prep. “This change reflects our commitment to providing a balanced, enriching education that supports both learning and family time.” “We're already planning exciting new blocks for the spring and summer terms”
Saturday sessions will now be entirely optional for Years 3 and 4, and there will continue to be no Saturday school for Years 1 and 2.
