Rhett, an Olympian and now Olympic Coach from South Africa, joined Strathallan in 2019. He said helping coach the dominating Dutch women’s side to Olympic victory was an unforgettable experience.
“Helping the girls train for and win the European Championships and then go on to win Gold in the Tokyo Olympics is an experience I will never forget.
“Watching the squad win Gold will stay with me for a very long time and now I’m excited to put my expertise to good use here at Strathallan.”

When asked about what he missed about the school during his busy year abroad, he said it was the rural setting of Strathallan that his family missed most.
“We missed the open green spaces of campus, our dog thinks she is in heaven being back here. It is great to reconnect with colleagues and friends, it feels as though we never left.”
Looking ahead, Rhett said he has big plans for Hockey at Strathallan.
“I can’t wait to continue the brilliant momentum we built up pre-Covid and make sure we stand out even more on the field. We have a strong group coming through with the boys and the girls. The girls are about to go into pre-season and I am exciting to see what we can do next.”
Director of Sport, Jim Thompson, said, “It’s great to welcome Rhett and his family back to Strathallan. His calibre of coaching and experience adds to our incredible portfolio of sports staff, meaning our pupils will continue to receive the very best sports coaching and development available.
“It’s not just Hockey we have big plans for this term. We are very much looking welcoming all our pupils back to school to enjoy the wide range of sports available to them, including the welcome return of competitive fixtures."
