Strathallan pipers join SAINT PHNX on major track

Members of Strathallan School Pipe Band were invited to join Scottish rock band SAINT PHNX and musician Cameron Barnes on a special cover of the chart-topping track ‘Happy Place’.

'Happy Place' is a huge anthemic track written in memory Bert Jukes, father of the Scottish duo SAINT PHNX. Given his love for the Highlands, SAINT PHNX said, "It only felt right to add bagpipes."

Strathallan Pipe Major Conor C said he and the other pipers felt privileged to be involved with the latest bagpipe cover of the song.

"It sounds great," said Conor. "I'm so happy that so many of our pipers were involved, it's a brilliant tune that was fun to help make and great to listen to afterwards. I hope the number of pipers on the track inspires others to pick up the pipes and see that the pipes have a place in progressive music as well as traditional tunes."

"I'm personally proud that Piping at Strath hasn't declined since Covid-19, in fact, we are going from strength to strength. We have such a strong band now with players coming from all over to learn. I'm excited to see what else we can achieve this year."
