Medal Rush: Strathallan Swimmers Make a Splash at SNAGs

Strathallan swimmers make waves at SNAGs, clinching an impressive 11 medals across the week.

Finlay B

Finlay B, who set a new Scottish Age Group Long Course Record in the 200m Backstoke at the Guildford City Spring Open Meet in March was on fire again in Aberdeen, securing gold and the title of Scottish Age Group Champion in the following events:

  • 50m Back
  • 100m Back
  • 200m Back
  • 200m IM
  • 400m IM
  • 400m Freestyle (on his Birthday!)

Euan W

Euan W also saw great success in the pool, being named Scottish Age Group Champion in:

  • 100m BR
  • 50m BR

He also earned Bronze in 200m BR (PB) and placed in the following races:

  • 5th in 400m Free (PB)
  • 4th in 400m IM
  • 5th in 200m IM
  • 9th in the 100m Free

Both Finlay and Euan contributed to Perthshire Swim Club's triumph in all three relay events:

  • 4x100M Medley
  • 4x100M Free
  • 4x200M Free

Their performances helped Perth City Swim Club secure 5th place overall out of 90 teams taking part in SNAGs.

Swimming for Fins Csc, Kristin M achieved solid results in the following events:

  • 5th in 1500m Free
  • 7th in 400m Free
  • 8th in 400M IM

Representing Step Rock and Stirling Swimming Club, Sam C excelled with PBs in 400m Free and 50m BR and Soren Y competed in 400m Free – a great experience in his first time at SNAGS.

Director of Swimming at Strathallan, Elaine Johnston, who joined Perth City Swim Club poolside in Aberdeen said, “It was a fantastic week of swimming. It was great to see these incredible results over a variety of strokes and distances. Every one of our swimmers should be proud of their achievements after a long week of racing. Thank you to Perth City Swim Club for their continued support of our students and thanks to all the parents, carers, families and friends who helped prepare, cheer and support our swimmers on in Aberdeen.”
