Strathallan pupils make a splash in the Scottish Swimming Festival of Swimming

Swimmers on great form competing for the first time in 18 months

This weekend saw the Scottish Swimming festival of swimming held across three venues, with five Strathallan pupils representing their clubs at the first competition since March 2020.

Competing for Dundee City Aquatics, Evan D, Ewan W and Ollie S all put in fantastic performances with Evan finishing in first position across Scotland for the 14 years age group in all 6 of the events he competed in. Second Form pupil Ewan W also placed in the top 10 in all of his 6 events including first position in the 200m backstroke and 400m freestyle posting a 29 second PB in the latter. Owen C and Elise S swam for Perth City with Owen sitting 2nd across Scotland age 16yrs for 100 backstroke and Elise C placing 4th across Scotland age 16yrs in 100 and 400 freestyle.

Strathallan swim coach Elaine Johnston said ‘I am very proud of all the swimmers and results with significant personal bests recorded almost across the board. They were all on great form having put in tremendous effort in the pool since their return to School and full training after the limited pool access they had during lockdown.’

These pupils follow in the footsteps of former pupil and Olympic swimmer Duncan Scott who will be competing in Tokyo in the coming weeks.
