Although Strathallan is a non-denominational school, we have a full-time Christian Chaplain, Reverend Jonny Wylie, who presides over weekly services in our Chapel on Wednesdays for the senior school, Thursdays for our Junior House, Riley and for boarders on alternate Sundays.

Our services are broadly Christian in ethos with occasional outside speakers. Special events such as Remembrance and Christmas are a particular feature of Chapel life and form a focal point for the entire community at certain times of the year.

Support and advice for all pupils

Reverend Wylie was a Chaplain in the RAF for over 15 years, serving both at home and in operational theatres abroad. He has a great deal of pastoral experience and is able to provide support to any pupil or member of staff, regardless of faith or philosophy of life.

He provides a sympathetic and confidential ear whenever someone in our community needs it. He’s there to talk to in a crisis, he’s a good sounding board, a sympathetic support in emotional or spiritual issues, and always available to help people explore ideas about life and faith over a good cup of coffee.

The Chaplain also offers confidential support to pupils and parents on religious matters and, through local arrangements and contacts, can help provide opportunities for those who wish to worship in their own particular denomination or faith.
