Visiting Teacher of Music – Pipe Band Drumming

We’re seeking to recruit a visiting music teacher to work closely with Strathallan’s Director of Music and Pipe Major in order to promote their discipline throughout the School community and create the framework within which pupils can enjoy an active pursuit of music at all levels and in a variety of forms.

Applicants are advised to express interest as soon as possible and that interviews will be held on a rolling basis  At interview, candidates will need to demonstrate and understanding of teaching an individual lesson as well as working with other musicians, interview, tour of the school and a brief meeting with members of school management.

Support for Learning teacher

Strathallan School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher of Support for Learning to join a forward-looking and ambitious Department. The post will require teaching middle and senior school pupils from age 10 to 18. The school offers A Levels, Highers and GCSEs and achieves regular success in a wide range of co-curricular fields. There is the opportunity for the successful candidate to become fully immersed in the pastoral and extra-curricular life of this thriving boarding and day school. To this end accommodation may be available as a resident tutor in a boarding house.

Physical Education (PE) teacher

Full time maternity cover from September 2019 for one or possibly two terms.

The post will require teaching middle and senior school pupils from age 10 to 18. The school offers SQA Highers, A Levels and GCSEs.

Support Staff Vacancies

 

School Secretary & Receptionist

Strathallan is a leading independent co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 9 to 18. Due to expansion of the Administrative Support Department, we are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated School Secretary and Receptionist to provide professional and comprehensive secretarial support and reception cover.

The position is a full time, permanent, year round post and is available immediately. Salary £17.5k – £18.5k dependent on suitability, qualifications and experience.

School Plumber/Handyperson

We are looking for a fully qualified Plumber to join the Estates Department at a busy independent school in Perthshire set amongst a beautiful, 150-acre rural campus. The salary for this position will be between £25-28Kpa dependent on suitability, qualification and experience.

The School campus, and therefore the plumbing/heating network, is extensive and will require you to be technically competent, enthusiastic and reliable with good inter-personal skills to fit into our small Estates Team and to ensure that the School’s plumbing/heating systems are efficient and safe.

You must be able to work unsupervised and to proactively assist the Estate Manager in all matters requiring a plumbing input. You will be expected to be able to work on your own initiative and to agreed performance targets, demonstrating a high level of organisational and time management skills.

You must be time-served, qualified to the ‘approved standard’ and have suitable plumbing/heating experience. As an Approved Plumber you will be expected to undertake a variety of domestic & commercial plumbing/heating tasks including installation works, maintenance, fault finding, inspection, testing & certification.

Please note that the current duties of our plumber post includes the maintenance and servicing of low pressure boilers and ancillary systems and the maintenance, cleanliness and water testing of the school swimming pool and plant.
